Support for Orphans and Widows

Poverty and hunger are closely linked – those who live in poverty are likely to suffer from hunger or malnutrition. Poverty and hunger are often caused by lack of education, employment and healthcare. Children and youth account for two-thirds of the world’s poor, and women represent a majority in most regions.

Hunger and undernutrition are often linked to extreme poverty and lack of access to available, sufficient, nutritious food. Action against Hunger’s food security and livelihoods programs aim to empower vulnerable communities to improve their access to food, income, and markets. Hunger as a Social Problem. In any society where people are hungry or where many children are malnourished, food ought to be the major concern for people working in health. Effects of hunger are poor health, physical symptoms such as stomachaches and headaches, signs of worry, anxiety, and behavior problems. Poor nutrition due to lack of food leads to bodily weakness which in turn leads to greater susceptibility to illness and dealth.

SOW CARE support nutrition supplies like dry ration to the needy poor and vulnerable children and families based on the request from the various community at Chennai. Priority will be given to Semi-orphan, orphan and widows based on the funds available for the month. Last year 2020-2021 we supported 180 families with Dry rations.
